On April 15, 1947, 27-year-old Jack Roosevelt Robinson broke baseballs color line and changed the game forever. He earned Rookie of the Year honors in 1947 and National League MVP honors in 1949, and also led the Dodgers to the World Series six times in his career. Robinson retired in 1956 at the age of 37. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962.
