It's the 1959 season at Crosley Field in Cincinnati, the Reds hosting the eventual National League champion Los Angeles Dodgers. First baseman Norm Larker is at bat for the visitors; righthander Bob Purkey is on the mound. Located at the corner of Findlay and Western in the city's West End, this is a colorful and cozy ballpark - less than 400 feet to any outfield fence.

And there are no warning tracks, just rising inclines to alert players of imminent contact with a wall. First opened in 1912 as Redland Field and renamed in 1934 for team owner Powell Crosley, it was the site of the first night game in major league history (May 24, 1935).
