A Pirate from 1955-1972, the Hall of Fame right fielder collected 12 Gold Gloves, led National League outfielders in assists 5 times and recorded a remarkable 266 career assists. And No. 21 could swing a bat. A 4-time batting champ with a career average of .317, Clemente hit over .300 13 times.

He was voted the NL MVP in 1966, when he hit .317 with 29 HRs and 119 RBIs. He was named World Series MVP in 1971, hitting .414 with 12 hits and 2 homers as the Bucs clipped the Orioles in 7 games. On September 30, 1972, Clemente notched the 3000th and final hit of his career. 3 months later, on December 31, Clemente was killed in a plane crash off the San Juan coast while on a mercy mission to aid earthquake victims in Nicaragua.Features
